The story so far

Since 2019 Scattered Clouds has worked with a growing list of clients with the aim of transforming tourism sector data into insight, these include::

  • Scottish Tourism Alliance - Scattered Clouds was delighted to accept invitations to speak at both STA Autumn Conference in 2023 and Signature Conference in Spring 2024

  • Shakespeare’s England - Scattered Clouds was grateful for the opportunity to present at a Shakespeare’s England Tourism Forum discussing trends and prospects for both inbound and domestic tourism

  • Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust - Scattered Clouds was excited to have been invited by WWT to assist the organisation in assessing prospects for 2023

  • Birmingham Museums Trust - Scattered Clouds was delighted to have been invited to support Birmingham Museums Trust in making sure that it makes the most of its data

  • National Trust - Scattered Clouds helped National Trust in London and the South East to take stock of what the future may have in store through the provision of a detailed report and an interactive workshop

  • British Educational Travel Association - Scattered Clouds is pleased to have been asked to provide analysis and commentary for BETA’s quarterly Business Barometer throughout 2022 and 2023. In the autumn of 2023 Scattered Clouds was delighted to be invited to speak at the BETA Summit

  • VisitAberdeenshire - ScatteredClouds has delivered insights workshops to help the team gain a clearer understanding of sources of tourism market intelligence, and continues to support aspects of the organisations research and evaluation programme

  • Visit Jersey - Scattered Clouds acted as an interlocutor between Visit Jersey and its Exit Survey fieldwork agency, delivering regular analyses of the latest market performance and visitor characteristics

  • VisitWiltshire - Scattered Clouds was delighted to present to the VisitWiltshire Board in the summer of 2021 discussing the prospects for the recovery in tourism demand, leading to a wider industry-facing training session providing guidance to local businesses on sources of tourism data and insight

  • Four Communications - Scattered Clouds has supported Four Communications on a number of tourism board related projects

  • Irish Tourism Industry Confederation - Scattered Clouds was invited to act as an International Reviewer for the 2017 ITIC report “Improving Tourism Data for Sustainable Growth”

  • ALVA - Scattered Clouds was commissioned to undertake a piece of desk research to help ALVA members better understand how markets may recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. In a further commission Scattered Clouds has developed a Data Tool to help ALVA members explore past trends, with an accompanying report analysing the drivers of those trends

  • SLC - Scattered Clouds has been engaged by SLC Representation to help the business better understand the UK outbound travel market

  • BH&HPA - Scattered Clouds attended the annual BH&HPA conference in 2020 to talk delegates through the current ‘state of the nation’ and to share thoughts on the factors likely to shape the future of tourism and in early 2021 revisited these subjects through a series of webinars

  • Heritage Railway Association - Scattered Clouds was pleased to speak at the HRA annual management conference to help delegates get a feel for what will be driving demand in the future

  • UKInbound - Scattered Clouds was delighted to be invited to provide a ‘State of the Nation’ presentation at the CEO roundtable event held in March 2021 and to present at both the 2022 and 2023 UKinbound Annual Convention. In early 2024 Scattered Clouds was pleased to support UKInbound through analysis of its annual Member Satisfaction Survey

  • City of London Corporation - Scattered Clouds has been commissioned as part of a team to assist the City of London Corporation in gathering insights that will help establish the likely impact of and recovery from the coronavirus pandemic

  • ETOA - Scattered Clouds is assisting ETOA in identifying a wide range of insight sources to help expand the value the organisation offers to its members

  • Go To Places - Scattered Clouds is excited to be working with Go To Places, delivering webinars to stakeholders of both Visit Kent and Visit Herts

  • TMI - Scattered Clouds is delighted to have been invited to present at The Tourism Management Institute Annual Convention

  • VAC - Scattered Clouds is privileged to have been offered the opportunity to discuss the ‘shifting sands’ impacting the visitor economy at the VAC 2020 Virtual Conference
